Turkey's tourism sector saw an increase of 46.3% in July, data from the Tourism Ministry showed on Friday, amid a strong rebound following a rough 2016.
The sharp rise was off a low base last year, amid terror attacks and a coup attempt, though the 5mn visitors were still somewhat below the 5.5mn who came in the same month of 2015.
The July data marks four consecutive months of growth for the key sector.
Russian tourists have flocked back, making them the largest single group to visit Turkey. Their numbers had plummeted last summer - peak season - after Turkey downed a Russian war plane near the Syrian border in November 2015.
The second largest group was Germans, despite tensions between the two governments.
