Qatar Urdu Radio’s efforts to reach out to the South Asian community and relaying reliable information about the Gulf crisis are commendable, Chaudry Tahir Mahmood said yesterday.
Mahmood, who is the general secretary of the Pakistan Welfare Forum, was a guest on the live radio show Haqeeqat that airs on Qatar Urdu Radio. Yesterday’s topic of discussion was about the blockading countries’ news coverage of the Gulf crisis.
“Qatar Urdu Radio is our source of authentic and reliable information. The blockaders reported fake news in their coverage of the first few days of the siege on Qatar. However, it was just false propaganda,” he said.
Haqeeqat, which aims to engage and interact with the large South Asian expatriate community in Qatar, is a joint venture of the Gulf Times and Qatar Media Corporation Urdu Radio. It is broadcast from Sunday to Thursday on FM107.
