Around 60% of the work capacity of most of the local caterers has been booked by Qataris in preparation for the upcoming Eid al-Adha festivities, according to local Arabic daily Arrayah.
As part of the traditional Eid celebrations, families tend to host their friends and family members at lunch or dinner, which is usually prepared by local caterers, as they can comply with the special requirements of the local cuisine.
Though the demand is set to increase as the Eid days approach, the prices at these outlets remained stable, the daily reported yesterday.
Salem Bilal, director of a local caterer, said that orders for food are being received every day, with most of them from customers they have been dealing with for a long time.
The main meal includes a cooked sheep with rice and several spices, which is the most popular dish to be served during Eid gatherings. He pointed out that some customers prefer to buy live sheep themselves and give it to the caterer to be processed while others leave the whole process to the outlet. He said customers are keen to get their orders at the designated time without any delay.
Mohamed Ali, another director of a local caterer, expected the number of orders to multiply as the Eid holidays approach, stressing that prices should remain stable to gain customers’ trust while delivering the same quality.
