Six local businesses, representing some of the best new arrivals on the Qatar food truck scene, have been selected to join the growing supply chain of Qatar Museums (QM).
The announcement marks the latest example of the successful long-term partnership between QM and Qatar Development Bank (QDB) to support the development of SMEs and the private sector in Qatar.
The six winners will host their first visitors on the MIA grounds in the coming weeks, in time for the start of the busy fall exhibition season, QM said in a statement.
Additional food operators will be selected for future QM sites in the coming months.
The partnership between QM and QDB was launched earlier this year, calling on SMEs across Qatar in the fields of hospitality, food and beverage, merchandising, retail and creative products and design to develop and submit business ideas for the chance to join QM and QDB’s growing supply chain.
Following a thorough selection process, QM and QDB appointed the following food truck operators to bring their delicious and unique new offerings to the local community:
1.Doha Bus Café will utilise the popular Doha hop-on-off bus as the venue for its operation at MIA Park, offering a delicious range of Qatari fusion food and beverages menu.
2.Coffee-Bike Café will serve its own rich tasting organic coffee, fresh juices, healthy smoothies, in addition to own signature sandwiches and desserts.
3.Dareen Sweets will offer sweet and salty biscuits, cakes and a selection of hot and cold drinks.
4.Coming to Doha from the streets of Thailand, Ice Rolls will be the first Qatari concept offering customers rolled ice cream in cups, promising an exceptional taste experience.
5.A selection of authentic American food with a local twist is the trademark of Burger and Burmait. Its fresh and handmade American style burgers will be created using locally sourced ingredients.
6.Poori & Karak will serve a wide range of Indian chapati, poori and parati sandwiches.
“Each application we received was unique and truly impressive, proving Qatari entrepreneurs are ready to create a positive impact on the local economy,” CEO and Special Adviser to HE the Chairperson at QM Mansoor bin Ebrahim al-Mahmoud said.
QDB CEO Abdul Aziz bin Nasser al-Khalifa added that they are continuously working with their partners to help strengthen the economic system for the SME sector.
