Qatari graduates with ambitions to pursue careers in science and research are invited to apply to join Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar’s (WCM-Q) research training programme.
Applications are now open for the Biomedical Research Training Programme for Nationals 2018, designed to give aspiring Qatari college graduates the opportunity to gain essential research skills and experience to help them kick-start successful careers in biomedical research.
Applications to join the programme can be submitted online until November 5.
The six-month training programme will begin in January 2018 and run through to July 2018. Participating graduates will work alongside WCM-Q’s world-leading research scientists in the college’s state-of-the-art laboratories on a programme to equip them with a wide variety of research skills, experiences and competencies, providing a firm foundation upon which they can build careers in research.
The programme provides interns with practical laboratory skills, research administration skills, knowledge about how to conduct clinical research projects, and the chance to contribute to ongoing scientific studies being carried out at WCM-Q.
Although the programme is aimed at recent graduates who are interested in pursuing a career as a bench or clinical researcher, or a research administrator, applications from nationals are welcomed irrespective of their discipline. The training programme is a full-time, six-month employment commitment with trainees receiving a graduation certificate upon completion.
All participating interns are paid a stipend as part of a comprehensive compensation package.
The programme is fully funded by WCM-Q, and organised in partnership with the Qatar Research Leadership Programme at Qatar Foundation. To date, the programme has completed seven annual cycles and has provided training to 33 interns.
