Tamim al-Majd team won the women’s basketball championship, organised by the Qatar Women’s Sports Committee at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center. 
The tournament, in which eight teams, took part, is part of the preparation for Qatar Women’s Basketball national team to the Asian Championship, scheduled to be held in November in China. Tamim al-Majd beat Al Rayyan in the final with a 16-15 victory. Al Shamal came in third place after beating Al Waab. The top three teams of the tournament were felicitated by the Assistant Secretary of the Women’s Sports Committee Maha al-Abdul Jabbar, and Saleha al-Nuaimi, a member of the Board of Directors of the Basketball Federation.

Qatar Bowling Team Prepares for Asian Indoor Games 
Qatari bowling team is preparing to participate in the 5th edition of the Asian Indoor Games to be hosted in the Turkmenistan capital of Ashgabat  from September 17 to 27.
Executive Director of the Qatar Bowling Federation Mubarak al-Muraikhi said in a press release that the preparations are under way, adding that the programme includes camps abroad for players who will represent the Qatari team in the tournament.
Al-Muraikhi indicated that the team will also attend a camp in Sweden and will participate in Denmark Championship before competing in the Asian Indoor Games. The Qatari team will include Jassim al-Muraikhi, Ghanim Bu Jassoum, Ali al-Janahi and Mohammad al-Muraikhi. The Qatari team, he said, will participate in the singles and doubles competitions and it had already participated in the previous edition of the Asian Indoor Games in Korea.
The State of Qatar will have 53 players participate in the 5th Asian Indoor Games. The Games will bring together 22 countries to compete in 21 sports, including swimming, indoor athletics, weightlifting, basketball, taekwondo, dance sport, kickboxing, belt wrestling, greco-roman wrestling, snooker, chess, football, tennis, muaythai, sambo, kurash, ju-jitsu, bowling, track cycling and billiards.

QSA President Praises Qatari Swimmers
President of Qatar Swimming Association (QSA) Khaleel al-Jabir praised the results achieved by Qatari swimmers in the third series of the FINA Swimming World Cup 2017 in the Dutch City of Eindhoven, where they set 7 new personal records.
Al-Jabir said that the tournament, which was attended by more than 200 swimmers from 31 countries, saw strong competitions, noting that the achieved results reflected a promising future.
The president of the Association wished success to the technical and administrative bodies and swimmers in the upcoming tournaments. Qatar swimmers: Abdulaziz al-Obaidly, Abdelrahman Hesham, and Firas al-saidi had represented the Association.  Al-Obaidly participated in the 50m and 100m freestyle, 100m individual medley, and 200m individual medley. Abdelrahman Hesham took part in 100m backstroke, 200m breaststroke, and 200m individual medley. Firas al-Saidi was in action in 50m, 100m, and 400m freestyle.
