A partial lunar eclipse was visible in many parts of Pakistan on Monday evening, however, the residents of Karachi were unable to see anything due to an overcast weather. The partial eclipse of the moon, which started with a penumbral eclipse at 8.50pm, developed into partial eclipse at 10.23pm. It reached its highest point at 11.20pm and ended at 12.18am yesterday while the penumbral eclipse ended at 1.51am yesterday. According to Abdul Rashid, the director of the Climate Data Processing Centre of the Meteorological Department, they were expecting to see the partial lunar eclipse yesterday but were unable to do so because of the weather.
This photograph shows a full moon before the peak of the penumbral eclipse as seen from Pakistan’s capital of Islamabad late August 7.
