Qatar runner Abderrahman Samba qualified for the 400m hurdles final at the World Athletics Championships in London, which will conclude on Sunday, after winning the third semi-final heat in 48.75 seconds.
The Qatari national team runner took advantage of his strong start and position in the sixth lane to settle the race quietly in the last few metres, making it to the final in search of his first world medal in this major sporting event.
Samba will be up against some of the world’s best athletes in today’s final, and the Qatari champion’s chances are considered good despite the presence of American runners, and Olympic and World Cup medallists.
