Administrative staff and employees of Mowasalat (Karwa), Qatar’s transport company, recently achieved a blood donation record, which earned a certificate of appreciation from Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC).
The blood donation campaign, held at the company premises, is part of the CSR activities of Mowasalat’s Medical Commission, held under the supervision of the Ministry of Public Health, and in collaboration with HMC’s mobile blood donation unit.
The Mowasalat Medical Centre, which was inaugurated in May 2016, participated in the activities of the World Blood Donor Day on August 2.
Following the third field campaign for 2017, a total of 66 blood units were donated by Mowasalat’s administrative staff and employees, which is among the highest records achieved within five hours from 4pm to 9pm.
The initiative came under the directives of Mowasalat managing director Khaled Nasser al-Hail and under the supervision of Mowasalat Medical Centre director Dr Emad Bahloul.
The Medical Commission of Mowasalat is equipped with a registration section, general practitioner clinic, ENT clinic, dental clinic, laboratory section, radiology section and occupational health clinic, mainly for pre-employment medical and physical checkup, and annual medical checkup.
In addition, Mowasalat has equipped the medical centre with a complete and integrated building with additional facilities like consultation rooms, emergency room, isolation unit, well-equipped pharmacy, and first aid units.
The building and its facilities comply with international medical and health standards and its equipment are imported from the best companies in the world with consultation and guidance of Ministry of Public Health.
Mowasalat said it is keen on providing the best technological systems to deliver advanced software that would be used at the Medical Commission that is seamlessly integrated and accessible by Qatar’s Ministry of Public Health.
The Medical Centre serves Mowasalat’s 7,000-strong workforce, as well as the employees of other companies for pre-employment and annual medical checkup. It operates from 7am to 9pm in two shifts with a capacity to service 150 patients per day.
The Medical Commission can accommodate 450 screening tests per day, and all of its facilities are approved and licensed by the Ministry of Public Health and the Ministry of Municipality and Environment.
The Medical Centre software uses the ‘CMS System’, which was exclusively developed and designed for the Medical Commission to ensure accurate and reliable transmission of data.
The system helps not only to serve patients swiftly but it is also integrated with connection between the Medical Centre’s diagnostic equipment and the Ministry of Public Health and Ministry of Interior.
