Qatar-based maritime and logistics conglomerate sets up warehousing, third party logistics operations in the Sultanate

Qatar-based maritime and logistics conglomerate Milaha has launched in-country operations in Oman.

Initially, Milaha is setting up warehousing and third party logistics (3PL) services within the Sohar Free Zone, while it continues to explore further expansion in Oman of its diverse portfolio of services.

The announcement comes on top of the company also shifting its regional transshipment hub to the Port of Sohar, where Milaha is offering competitive transit time for local cargo and a high frequency of Oman to Qatar sailings.

Milaha currently calls on two ports in Oman (Sohar and Salalah) and three ports in India (Nhava Sheva, Mundra, and Kandla), offering enhanced connectivity and transit times to Qatar and the region, and is actively evaluating further expansion of services.

Milaha’s logistics setup in Oman will provide excellent opportunities for local, regional, and international importers and exporters, and will increase options to access the lucrative Qatari market.

Milaha president and CEO Abdulrahman Essa al-Mannai said: “We are pleased to be setting up in Oman as we seek to strengthen our position as a leading international provider of marine transport and logistics services. We are excited about the opportunities this will bring for our partners and ourselves, especially as we add new value-added services such as distribution and LCL, among others, over the next few weeks. We will aim, as always, to provide the most cost-effective and efficient solutions to our clients.”
