Astad has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Proplan, a Turkish project management consultancy, to identify mutual business opportunities in engineering consultancy, construction management, design and project management fields.
The agreement was inked at a ceremony in Izmir during a Qatari business delegation’s visit to Turkey, organised by the Qatar Chamber.
It paves the way for bilateral cooperation and joint strategic objectives aimed at exploring markets and joint efforts towards viable projects, according to a press statement.
Astad CEO Ali al-Khalifa said, “I would like to thank Qatar Chamber for organising this visit, promoting enhanced relations between Qatari and Turkish companies, leading to further cooperation to the benefit of both nations’ economies.
“This reflects our continued advocacy for excellence in project management, not just in Qatar, but internationally. Astad and Proplan are experts in project management in our respective countries and this MoU will support the continued growth and success of both of our companies.”
Astad International general manager Abdulaziz al-Mulla noted, “we look forward to furthering our strategic partnerships internationally with Proplan. Collaborations like this will continue to support our growth and success, always focusing on excellent outcomes for our clients and partners around the globe.”
Proplan’s chairman of the board Gökhan Özber thanked Turkey’s Minister of Economy Nihat Zeybekçi and DE?K (Foreign Economic Relations Board) president Cihad Vardan “for providing full support” and also thanked all contributors of the organisation. “Delivering world-class projects on time, within budget and with quality, is a goal shared by both Proplan and Astad. With this MoU, our firms commit to enhancing relations and seizing new opportunities and partnerships for the Qatari and Turkish markets.”
Astad said it has managed and delivered some of Qatar’s most complex building and infrastructure projects in various sectors of the construction industry. These cover the education, healthcare, sports, commercial, residential and transport sectors, “bringing together all the necessary components required to build a booming nation with a bright future to look forward to”.
Proplan has become one of the leading bodies in Turkey’s project management sector in a short span of time. The company’s background includes work on railways, infrastructure, hospitality, industrial facilities, commercial and mixed-use facilities, marinas, sports facilities, educational facilities, airports and public sector projects.
