Mauritius Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth met HE the Adviser at the Emiri Diwan and Qatar’s candidate for the post of director-general of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (Unesco) Dr Hamad bin Abdulaziz al-Kuwari yesterday.
The prime minister of Mauritius expressed his appreciation for Qatar and his commitment to maintaining excellent ties between Doha and Port Louis, and advancing it in different fields.
Al-Kuwari presented to the prime minister the details of his plan for a new start for Unesco.
He also provided an overview of the nature of the financial crisis facing the organisation, and his views regarding it.
The prime minister of Mauritius wished Qatar’s candidate well on his mission.
Al-Kuwari also met with Mauritius’ Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dwarka Canabady.
