Al Rabban Hospitality hopes to drive Qatar’s smart hospitality sector, thanks to a partnership announced yesterday with leading ICT provider Ooredoo, it was announced in a statement.
“Qatar’s hospitality sector is posting strong growth, with international visitors expecting to have the state-of-the-art experience that makes them feel at home. Ooredoo technology solutions are enabling Al Rabban Hospitality to launch the next wave of smart hospitality services such as virtual check-ins, mobile apps, and personalised in-room settings for each guest,” said Fhirnaz Ahamed, Group IT manager, Al Rabban Hospitality.
Supporting Qatar’s tourism growth, Al Rabban Hospitality, which operates Frasier Suites, has recently completed the installation of 824 high-definition smart TV systems. Ooredoo also installed corporate Internet VPN services so business guests can work securely, and the back-end technology infrastructure that supports full connectivity.
Hospitality is a key Qatar National Vision 2030 pillar. The Qatar Tourism Authority aims for 10mn visitors, $18bn in tourism spending, and 98,000 jobs by 2020, the statement said.
“Ooredoo is dedicated to enabling Qatar’s smart tourism and hospitality, with an end-to-end visitor experience from when visitors step off the plane to when they check in to their room,” said Ooredoo Qatar chief operating officer Yousuf Abdulla al-Kubaisi.
Further supporting Al Rabban Hospitality’s long-term digital transformation, Ooredoo is currently in discussion about installation smart data centre services, the statement added.
