Qatar’s volleyball team beat Vietnam 3-0 yesterday in the Asian Championships in Surabaya, Indonesia, which ends on August 2.
The Qatari team succeeded in putting up a good show during the match, helping them to vie for the ninth place in the continental championship.
After the match, Qatar’s Italian coach Giaccardi said his team had achieved a deserved victory against the Vietnamese team, known for their speed and good organisation.
He added the match was not easy, especially as the opponents were fighting for every point.
Giaccardi said that injuries to key players deprived the team of a better finish and hoped they would fare well in forthcoming tournaments, especially the World Cup qualifiers in Iran.
