The Qatar Olympic Academy (QOA) signed a partnership agreement with Qatar Foundation for Social Work (QFSW) yesterday.
This partnership aims at training employees from both organisations through courses and events.
Following the signing of the memorandum of understanding (MoU), Executive Director of the Qatar Olympic Academy, Saif al-Nuaimi, thanked Amal bint Abdullatif al-Mannai, CEO of Qatar Foundation for Social Work, for the role played by the Foundation and its affiliated centres.
This MoU emphasises the value of co-operation and communication between all State institutions in the interest of citizens and residents.
The agreement also underlines the importance of community partnership in achieving the goals for which it was established, al-Nuaimi said.
Al-Nuaimi called on all public and private institutions to respond to and interact with the programmes that will be presented through the agreement and benefit from the various projects targeting those who need them from the public.
For her part, Amal bint Abdullatif al-Mannai, CEO of Qatar Foundation for Social Work said this agreement is part of QFSW’s vision to consolidate and strengthen its relations with all the state agencies, which contributes to enhancing the spirit of co-operation between them and reflects its belief in the great role played by the Qatar Olympic Academy.
Al-Mannai added that QFSW aims to contribute to the development of evidence-based strategies and policies in order to achieve the desired development results in line with Qatar’s orientations and strategies and to build a results-based monitoring and evaluation system that provides stakeholders with the necessary data to measure the progress of approved policies, programmes and projects.
QFSW also aims to build smart and effective partnerships with relevant bodies, whether government agencies, the private sector or NGOs, internally, regionally and internationally and expand the scope of support and communication of its mission and vision among all stakeholders, she added.
The Foundation seeks as well to contribute to the development of legislative instruments according to the provisions of international conventions and treaties ratified by Qatar to achieve the objectives set out in the field of social work, as well as to enhance the development of its technical and administrative capacity along with the centres, which are under its umbrella and improve the supportive environment for its mission, she added.
She also pointed out that this MoU aims at enhancing the sport movement and promoting it among the various segments of Qatari society and motivating them to take a greater interest in and participate in sports activities to the fullest extent, in recognition of the high status of sport in Qatar.
She expressed her pleasure to enter into such a distinguished partnership with the leading Qatari sports organisations, pointing out that the aim of this MoU is to co-operate in sports field and benefit from the programmes offered by QOA and the various courses it offers especially to the Qatari cadres for their rehabilitation and development.
The agreement includes working with the centres operating under the umbrella of Qatar Foundation for Social Work, including the Protection and Social Rehabilitation Center “Aman”, Family Counselling Centre “Wifaq,” Dreama Orphans Care Centre, Centre for Empowerment and Elderly Care (Ehsan), Shafallah Centre for Children with Special Needs, Social Development Centre “Nama” and the Best Buddies Qatar.
