Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Wednesday said he is saddened by the continuation of the Gulf crisis, stressing the need for solidarity and brotherhood now more than ever before.

 The crisis between the brotherly Gulf states hurts us and saddens us, Erdogan said in a speech to the Higher Education Conference in Islamic Countries in Ankara, stressing that that the Islamic civiliSation is based on brotherhood, solidarity and cohesion among Muslims. As for developments in Jerusalem, Erdogan said that "Israel's removal of the electronic gates from Al-Aqsa Mosque is a correct step but not enough."
