The Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) announced that it has so far screened around 16,000 people for breast and bowel cancer since the National Breast and Bowel Screening Programme ‘Screen for Life’ was launched in 2015.
PHCC in its ongoing efforts to promote the crucial work of the programme, is reminding people to take the initiative with their health by undergoing screening for breast or bowel cancer.
Now in its second year, the ‘Screen for Life’ programme has reached significant milestones and has so far screened around 16,000 people for breast and bowel cancer since the programme’s launch, while highlighting the benefits of the early detection of cancer through screening and reminding people of the tests’ simple and fast process which can be performed in ultimate privacy. The three specialised screening facilities are located at Al Wakra, Lebaib and Rawdat Al Khail Health Centres. The programme’s core objective is to save precious lives by encouraging women aged 45 years or older with no symptoms to submit themselves to breast cancer screening through mammography. The campaign also calls on both men and women aged 50 years or older with no symptoms to undergo bowel cancer screening through
