Qatar Charity (QC) has announced plans for projects to be implemented in Bangladesh during the second half of this year in co-operation with the country's government.
In a press release, QC announced its new plan for projects, including provision of wells, care of orphans besides construction of cultural centres and mosques, at a total cost of QR30mn.
It pointed out that the plan includes 400 multi-service centres and mosques, and the support of 3,000 orphans, as well as the completion of water projects initiated earlier this year.
Qatar Charity said that it had allocated QR11mn to implement artesian wells and water cycles throughout this year, adding that the project will include the drilling of 3,000 artesian water wells in the coastal areas and areas affected by disasters such as hurricanes and floods.
In the first half of this year, 1,813 projects were completed. These included water wells, multi-service cultural centres, social welfare and capacity support projects such as productive and income-generating projects at a cost of QR20mn to benefit more than 100,000 people, it noted.
Qatar Charity stressed that these important development projects have received approval from the hosting country, which reflects the latter's confidence in the charity's development projects.
