HE the Minister of Transport and Communications Jassim Seif Ahmed al-Sulaiti held a meeting with Malaysian Transport Minister Liow Tiong Lai in Kuala Lumpur yesterday. The meeting explored the possibility of having close relations between the two countries in different areas of the transport sector in coming years. Among other issues, the meeting discussed ways to benefit from the investment opportunities in the two countries and active co-operation between Malaysia and Qatar in such areas as ports, navigational lines, container and cargo vessels industry. While explaining the contents of the technical report submitted by Qatar to the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) and the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) about the blockade countries’
violations of aviation’s safety and security, the Qatari minister also highlighted the serious
consequences such blockades have on air safety and security. HE the Minister of Transport and Communications Jassim Seif Ahmed al-Sulaiti held a separate meeting with  Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi. Talks during the meeting dealt with bilateral relations between Qatar and Malaysia in the transport and communications sector and means of enhancing them along with a number of issues of common concern. Qatar’s ambassador to Malaysia Eissa bin Mohamed al-Mannai also attended the meetings.
