*Lauds quick response of Turkish firms
*Qatari economy is able to deal with all difficulties

The Qatari economy is strong, stable and diversified and is able to overcome all challenges and difficulties, HE the Minister of Economy and Commerce Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohamed al-Thani has said.
HE Sheikh Ahmed, during a visit to Turkey, also thanked President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the Turkish government and people for the support extended by them to Qatar since the start of the ongoing crisis last month. He also lauded the quick response of Turkish firms by providing high-quality food and consumer items for people in Qatar, the Ministry of Economy and Commerce said in a statement yesterday.
HE Sheikh Ahmed met a number of dignitaries and officials during his visit to Turkey. They include Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Mehmet ?im?ek and Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekci, as well as representatives of Turkish companies operating in the food and cargo services sectors.
HE Sheikh Ahmed stressed that the Qatari economy is strong, stable and diversified. It also enjoys an attractive investment environment, he said, noting that there is great opportunity for Qatari and Turkish companies to increase the volume of trade and flow of investments between the two countries across all sectors and not just in consumer and food products.
Further, he said the Qatari economy is able to deal with all conditions and difficulties and overcome them, and has shown resilience in the face of regional and global crises.
During his meetings, he discussed the ways to further facilitate marine and other logistics to reduce the costs and transportation charges and ease the flow of Turkish products across different sectors.
He said Doha's sea and air trade was continuing without disruption despite sanctions. The Qatari market is open for goods from countries around the world, except for the blockading nations.
HE the Minster also discussed preparations for the upcoming Qatari-Turkish business forum and commercial exhibition, scheduled for July 26-27 in Izmir, Turkey, with the participation of a good number of businesspersons from both countries.
