Sri Lankan Health Minister Rajitha Senaratne yesterday said that the government was working on a programme to curb the spread of dengue 50% within a month.
The minister said the programme would be implemented based on the recommendations of a team of experts from the WHO.
The report, compiled by the team of WHO experts, on the eradication of dengue in Sri Lanka, has been handed over to the government.
Dr Amal Harsha de Silva, deputy director, General of Health Services, said that the report would be presented to the cabinet today.
He added that steps were being taken to only admit critical dengue patients to government hospitals in a bid to curb the influx of dengue patients at state hospitals.
