Qatar Red Crescent’s (QRCS) QR4.9mn Ramadan Iftar programme in 11 countries has provided meals and food packages to 78,837 poor people in Jordan, Yemen, Afghanistan, and Central African Republic (CAR).

In Jordan, QRCS distributed $37,000 food aid to 45,920 Syrians and Jordanians in Amman, Irbid, Zarqa, and Madaba, in co-operation with local and international charities. These distributions included 500 food packages and 8,420 Iftar meals.
QRCS's mission in Yemen handed over food packages to 2,631 families (18,417 people), pegged at $100,000. A special focus was given to orphans, widows, people with special needs, the blind, and the needy in Taiz (Mocha and Al Mawasit) and Amanat Al Asimah (Sana'a).
In Afghanistan, QRCS distributed food aid to 1,000 poor and displaced families in Nuristan, Badakhshan, and Helmand.
Conducted in co-operation with the Afghan Red Crescent Society (ARCS), the project focused on orphans, widows, and disabled people.
Each food package contained 89kg of food staples like flour, rice, vegetable oil, beans, sugar, milk, tea, and iodized salt.
In partnership with CAR Red Cross, QRCS delivered food packages to 1,900 families (9,500 people) in 16 camps and districts.
The local community leaders and mosque imams were engaged in the distribution and public awareness promotion of the project.
