Participating retailers are all set to kick off their special promotions for the Qatar Summer Festival (QSF), which will start a few days earlier in this year’s edition, Qatar Tourism Authority has said.

The more than two-month nation-wide festival will see retailers and malls in Qatar offering 50% discounts from June 22 to September 5.
“QSF offers Qatar’s visitors the ultimate summer package, from special travel and hospitality offers to exciting and varied retail and entertainment options for all members of the family to enjoy,” QTA’s festivals and events director Mashal Shahbik said in a statement.
She added that the summer festivities, which extend from Eid al-Fitr to Eid al-Adha, form a key part of their efforts to energise the tourism sector through diversifying Qatar’s events calendar and tourist source markets.
According to Shahbik, QTA is pleased that this edition’s activities are fully delivered by members of the private sector.
For every QR200 spent at any of the participating outlets in these malls, shoppers can enter the mega raffle draw to be held on the final day of QSF and have a chance to win one of the 10 cash prizes or a super luxury car.
The ‘Entertainment City’ at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre (DECC), known as QSF’s centerpiece and family favourite, will open its doors to the public on the first day of Eid al-Fitr.
Spread out over the expansive ground floor of DECC, the City’s key features include the world’s largest inflatable obstacle course, Timba Cars, Bricklyn Lego, skill games, virtual reality and arcade games, a paintball shooting range and live entertainment shows.
The City will also have a food court and pop-up shops. It will be open daily from 2pm to 11pm and an individual entry ticket costs QR15. Game prices range from QR5 to QR50.
The Festival will see 77 hotels and hotel apartments in Qatar offering a free night stay when two nights (at hotels) or five nights (at hotel apartments) are booked.
Hotel establishments are providing a range of other offers, including free breakfasts and pool access.
In addition, 20 hotels are providing spa offers, such as 50% discounts on gym memberships in July and August, and a 50% discount on breakfast buffets.
In addition, Qatar Airways transit passengers can also take advantage of +Qatar, a unique stopover package designed to give visitors the opportunity to discover Doha with free luxury hotel stays and complimentary transit visas.
