The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs has opened four new mosques in Dafna, Gharrafa, Wakrah and Freej Bin Mahmoud. The mosques have a combined capacity of more than 3,400 worshippers. The ministry said in a statement that the opening of the new mosques comes within the framework of its plan to expand the number of mosques and develop them in all regions to keep pace with urban growth and rise in population.
