Aspire Zone Foundation (AZF) has held the first annual forum on its National Development team’s scholarship and sponsorship programmes, which aims to give Qataris a chance to continue their education locally or abroad.
Offering opportunities in fields such as public health, finance, human resources, marketing and engineering, the programmes contribute to their professional development and, in turn, increase their employability and productivity when they eventually enter the world of work.
At the forum, AZF representatives introduced interested students and employees to the programmes and explained the admissions process. AZF representatives from the human resources department were also on hand to answer questions from individuals already
studying on the programmes.
Ahmed al-Hassan, manager, Learning and National Development in the Human Resources Department at AZF, said: “We were very proud to have seen 21 students – our biggest ever batch – graduate from the programmes recently. To build on this success, we decided to host this annual forum to provide an opportunity for current and potential students to engage with each other and AZF professionals, providing a forum where they can share expertise and help address any concerns.”
Abdullah Saeed al-Mohannadi, who is studying for an MSc Public Health on a scholarship from Aspetar, an affiliate of AZF, thanked the human resources department for being supportive during the exciting and challenging period.
Launched four years ago, the National Development programmes help Qatari nationals interested in continuing their education abroad with the necessary entry requirements, examinations information, submission dates, and visas. Representatives from the department also keep in touch with students for the duration of their time studying abroad to help them maintain a strong academic performance.
Given the positive impact this programmes has on the Qatari economy and the country’s realisation of Qatar National Vision 2030, the National Development Programmes are widely celebrated as an excellent example of AZF’s commitment to developing local talent.
