The works of the second phase of Ali bin Abi Talib Street Development in New Salata have begun, Ashghal said while announcing the completion of phase one works of the project.

The Talib Street development Project comes under Phase six of a project to develop roads and roundabouts in different areas of Greater Doha.

The phase one of the Talib Street Development included the conversion of both Al Maahed and Al Qafila roundabouts to signal-controlled intersections as well as the development and opening of two lanes on Ali bin Abi Talib Street which connects C-Ring and D-Ring roads.

The phase two works include the addition of a third lane to Ali bin Abi Talib Street and a service road in each direction. This is in addition to developing the infrastructure such as storm water drainage networks, street lighting, landscaping, and installing interlock while protecting existing utilities.

The project also comprises the development of Al Maahed Street in Salata area and Al Qafila Street which connects Salwa Road and Ali bin Abi Talib Street. The works include widening the mentioned streets to two lanes in each direction.

In order to enhance traffic capacity and reduce any inconvenience resulting from the implementation of the project works as much as possible, two lanes will remain open to traffic in each direction and access roads to residential buildings and business institutes will remain open throughout the project period.

Ashghal has installed signboards onsite to alert drivers during work period. All phases of Ali bin Abi Talib Street and surrounding roads development are expected to be completed on September 15, 2017.
