The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) has opened a new office at Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB)’s headquarters on Grand Hamad Street to offer real estate registration and authentication services to the banking sector.
Saeed Abdullah al-Suwaidi, assistant undersecretary for Real Estate Registration and Documentation Affairs at the MoJ, inaugurated the new office in the presence of Khamis Jassim al-Markhi, head of Real Estate Registration, along with D Anand, QIB general manager - Personal Banking Group, and the bank’s senior management members.
He said the inauguration of the office is part of the “MoJ’s vision and strategy to expand its offices and branches in accordance with instructions from Qatar’s wise leadership to ensure that services are close to the people, giving them easy access to these solutions”.
This includes linking facilities provided by government institutions directly to public services offered by banks and large companies that deal with the MoJ in fields of real estate and mortgage, as well as other services that the ministry is ensuring will be easily accessible to institutions, citizens and residents, according to a statement.
Al-Suwaidi noted that the opening of the office coincided with the launch of the third phase of the Real Estate Registration and Authentication System, known as SAK. The electronic system includes sales and mortgage transactions that are directly linked with banking services. The office will serve as a “convenient platform to provide all bank customers those services under one roof”.
He explained that as the first step, representatives at the new office will register all visitors into SAK, as all real estate registration and authentication services are now offered through this system that is integrated with all banks and other service providers. After their registration into the SAK system, bank customers will be able to receive full real estate authentication and registration services.
He noted that the opening of the office coincides with the MoJ’s relocation to its new headquarters at Gulf Tower and the transfer of all real estate registration and authentication services to external officers and branches.
Al-Suwaidi said the MoJ dedicates all its facilities to serve the public and welcomes every enquiry or complaint about its services. It has set up an operations room in the real estate registration department to answer all relevant queries. People can call 40216105, reach the ministry on its round-the-clock hotline 137 or visit the MoJ’s social media pages.
D Anand, general manager - Personal Banking Group at QIB, praised the opening of the MoJ office at QIB’s headquarters, saying the services offered at the new office will help reduce time and efforts as it facilitates the banks’ real estate-related transactions.
QIB thanked the ministry for its confidence in the bank and its co-operation that led to the opening of the office.
