Nepal’s Embassy in Doha organised an interactive discussion programme titled “Bilateral Investment and Productive Use of Remittance: Problems and Solutions” with Qatar-based Nepali entrepreneurs and those associated with financial institutions recently. The event was organised under Nepal government-approved Economic Diplomacy Program. 
The programme addressed matters like the need and prospects of bilateral agreements between Nepal and Qatar, the prospective sectors for Nepali and Qatari investments in each other’s countries and their promotion, problems of Nepali entrepreneurs in Qatar and their solutions, and the challenges faced with regard to productive use of remittances in Nepal.
The programme started with a presentation of a brief working paper by the embassy regarding key issues that are appropriate to be incorporated in future bilateral agreement between Nepal and Qatar. Participants commented on the working paper.
Speaking at the end of the event, ambassador Prof. Ramesh Prasad Koirala stated that the embassy will work to promote bilateral relationship between Nepal and Qatar, to promote and protect bilateral investments, to improve productive use of remittance in Nepal, and resolve labour issues.
