Kabul bombing condemned
Qatar has strongly condemned the bombing in the Afghan capital of Kabul, which resulted in the death and injury of a number of people. In a statement yesterday the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated Qatar’s firm position rejecting violence and terrorism regardless of motives or reasons. The statement expressed Qatar’s condolences to the families of the victims, the government and the Afghan people, and wished the injured speedy recovery.

Strong winds expected today
The Qatar Met department has said strong winds are once again expected today in some places during the daytime along with poor visibility due to dust, while windy conditions and high seas are likely offshore. The wind speed may go up to 28 knots in both inshore and offshore areas before decreasing by night, according to the weather report. The detailed forecast also says it will be hot during the day and slight to blowing dust is expected in some places at times, with the visibility dropping to 3km or less. Dusty conditions are likely offshore, too, occasionally and the sea level may rise to 10ft in the early hours. A maximum temperature of 41C is expected in Doha, Mesaieed and Wakrah today. Yesterday, the maximum was 42C was in the Qatar University area and Turayna, while in Doha it was 39C.
