Residents of Qatar and other Arab countries can see three planets close to the moon this month, Qatar Calendar House has said citing astronomical calculations.

The first of these is Jupiter, which will be “at two degrees from the southern moon's centre” after midnight on June 4”, noted astronomer Dr Beshir Marzouk has explained in a statement. People in Qatar can observe Jupiter and the moon together with their naked eye “over the western horizon of the Doha sky after midnight until Jupiter's setting time”.

The time of setting will be 1:30am Doha local time, he explains.

The second planet that will come close to the moon is Saturn. It will be “three degrees to the southern moon's centre” on June 10 at 4.25am Doha local time. Qatar residents can see Saturn and the full moon together from midnight until sunrise time over the Doha sky.

On June 21, Venus will come close to the moon by two degrees from the northern moon's centre. Qatar residents can see Venus and the moon together with their naked eye over the dawn sky after the moon's rising time over the eastern horizon. The moon will rise over the Doha sky at 2.13am.
