Qatargas received the ‘Qatarisation Crystal Award’ in recognition of its efforts in “Support for training and development” at the annual award ceremony held on the sidelines of the 17th Qatarisation Review Meeting of the energy and industry sector.
The event was held under the patronage of HE the Minister of Energy and Industry Dr Mohamed bin Saleh al-Sada and attended by Saad Sherida al-Kaabi, President & CEO, Qatar Petroleum, and chairman, Qatargas Board of Directors, and Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa al-Thani, Qatargas chief executive officer among others.
Sheikh Khalid received the award from al-Sada on behalf of Qatargas.
This is Qatargas’ fifth Qatarisation Crystal award since the award was instituted nine years ago. The company won the award for the first time in 2010 for ‘Supporting Qatarisation’.
In 2011, Qatargas won the award in the ‘Support for training and development’ category.
This was followed by two consecutive awards in 2013 and 2014 for ‘Support and liaison with the education sector’ and ‘Support for training and development’ respectively. Attracting, retaining, developing and motivating a high calibre workforce is an important element of ‘Qatargas’ Direction Statement’.
As the World’s Premier LNG Company, the Qatari national employees have an important role to play in the future of Qatargas and the development of the country.
As envisaged in the human development pillar of the Qatar National Vision 2030, development of the national workforce is a top priority at Qatargas.
Qatargas said its “invests significant time and effort in supporting and developing its workforce” through training and development.
