Strong winds are expected in some places during the day along with poor visibility due to dust by the afternoon, the Qatar Met department has said in its forecast for Sunday.

Offshore areas, too, are likely to see windy conditions and high seas by this afternoon.

The detailed forecast says the wind speed will be 10-20 knots and may go up to 25 knots in some inshore areas during the day. Hot daytime conditions will continue to prevail and slight to blowing dust is also likely in some places during the day, with visibility dropping to 3km or less at times.   

Offshore, the wind speed will be 5-15 knots, reaching a high of 15-25 knots in some areas by the afternoon. Dusty conditions are also expected at times along with some clouds. The sea level, meanwhile, may rise to 8ft by Sunday afternoon.

A maximum temperature of 43C is expected on Sunday in Doha and Al Khor, followed by 42C in Mesaieed and Wakrah.

Saturday, the maximum was 44C in the Qatar University area, Al Khor, Sheehaniya, Batna and Turayna, while in Doha it was 41C.
