Qatar University College of Arts and Sciences (QU-CAS) recently honoured Dean List’s students for Fall 2016.
A total of 744 distinguished students - 94 male and 650 female - who obtained 3.5 GPA or higher received their certificates from CAS dean Dr Rashid al-Kuwari in two separate ceremonies for males and females.
Attendees included CAS associate deans for Research and Graduate Studies Prof Hala Sultan al-Essa, for Academic Affairs Dr Hassan Abdel Aziz and for Students Affairs Dr Yaser Hussein, CAS department heads, faculty, students and their
families.
Dr al-Kuwari said, “I would like to congratulate our distinguished students and their parents for their pivotal role in this achievement.” He outlined the requirements for being on the Dean’s List. They include a GPA of 3.5 or above, a minimum of 12 hours of academic courses, a good final assessment of the semester courses, and the exemption of any academic warning or disciplinary action during the semester.
Senior student Khlaid al-Ansari (Department of Chemistry and Earth Sciences) said, “I would like to thank my professors for providing us with the knowledge and for helping us throughout the academic year.”
Third-year student Raghid Tayeh (Department of International Affairs) said, “I am glad to be among the honoured students for the third time in a row and this makes me feel that I am on the right track.”
Second-year student Aisha al-Shahwani (Department of International Affairs) noted, “This is my first time on the Dean’s List. This award showed me that hard work pays off in the end.”
Second-year student Aya Shabana (Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences) added, “Today’s honouring makes me forget how much I was tired during the semester and only remember the fantastic result.”
