A Doha Criminal Court has sentenced a motorist to one month in jail and a fine of QR10,000 for reckless driving that caused severe injuries to other road users.
Local Arabic daily Arrayah reported that the man was driving his vehicle from Rawdat Rashid towards Doha, and due to speeding and lack of attention crashed into the rear of the vehicle in front of him.
This caused the other vehicle to overturn hitting a light column, which caused the vehicle to burn.

The court convicted the defendant based on the traffic investigations report and the testimony of the victims.
