Qatar Chamber is studying the use of e-mail “as an approved means of communication” with its members and all private sector companies, the chamber has said.
In a statement, Qatar Chamber director general Saleh bin Hamad al-Sharqi (pictured) said “there is a pressing need” for the chamber’s members to be informed of all events and activities being held in the chamber.
He also reiterated Qatar Chamber’s previous call to all its registered companies to include pertinent information like e-mail addresses and telephone numbers in their contact data sheet.
Al-Sharqi noted that the chamber is keen in taking the necessary steps to maximise technological advancements and the latest trends in corporate communication to connect with its members.
He stressed reducing the chamber’s dependence on paper when doing transactions supports the ‘green economy’ requirements of the State of Qatar and is in line with the pillars of the Qatar National Vision 2030 on sustainable development.
Al-Sharqi said Qatar Chamber has started using e-mail to transmit internal communications but has decided “to expand the process” to include its members and other companies.
He urged all members to update their information through Qatar Chamber’s website. An application form is available where members can list down the company owner’s information, name of company, sector, website, e-mail address, and other data.
The chamber is currently updating member’s information to set up a comprehensive data base to facilitate liaising with all Qatar Chamber members, al-Sharqi added.
