Arab human rights panel to discuss Qatar’s report
The Arab Human Rights Committee (Charter Committee), chaired by Mohamed Feziea, will hold its 13th session to discuss the first periodic report submitted by Qatar to implement the provisions of the Arab Charter on Human Rights.
The session will be held on 15 and 16 May at the headquarters of  Arab League.
A statement issued by the committee yesterday said that Qatar’s delegation to the meeting is scheduled to be chaired by Director of Human Rights Department at the Foreign Ministry Faisal bin Abdullah al-Hanzab.
Qatar will submit its first periodic report to the committee and outline the steps taken to implement the committee’s recommendations issued in the first report submitted by Qatar in 2013.

Education Minister meets governor of Grand Comore
HE the Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr Mohamed Abdul Wahed Ali al-Hammadi met the Governor of the Grand Comore in the Union of the Comoros Hassani Hamadi Mgomri in Doha yesterday.
During the meeting, they discussed aspects of co-operation in the fields of education, and ways of supporting and developing them.

Nato chief receives Qatar’s envoy
Secretary-General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (Nato) Jens Stoltenberg has received the credentials of Qatar’s Head of Mission to Nato, Abdulrahman bin Mohamed al-Khulaifi.

Mercedes-Benz E Class 2016 models recalled

The Ministry of Economy and Commerce (MEC), in collaboration with Nasser Bin Khaled Automobiles, has announced the recall of Mercedes-Benz E-Class 2016 models because the front door hinge does not correspond to current series production and a parcel net should be added for the trunk.
The MEC said the recall campaign comes within the framework of its ongoing efforts to protect consumers and ensure that car dealers follow up on vehicle defects and repairs.
The MEC will co-ordinate with the dealer to follow up on the maintenance and repair works and communicate with customers to ensure that the necessary repairs are carried out.
