HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani issued the following decrees yesterday:
1. Decree No 21 of 2017 ratifying an air transport agreement between the governments of Qatar and Azerbaijan, signed in Baku on August 28, 2007.
2. Decree No 22 of 2017 ratifying a co-operation agreement in the fields of culture and arts between the governments of Qatar and Mexico signed in Doha on January 21, 2016  and the annexed diplomatic notes on about the approval of amending the text of Article II of the agreement.
3. Decree No 23 of 2017 ratifying a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Qatar Central Bank and Central Bank of Venezuela signed in Caracas on November 25, 2015.
4. Decree No 24 of 2017 ratifying a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for co-operation in the field of financial affairs between the Ministry of Finance in Qatar and the Ministry of Finance in Belarus signed in Doha on October 30, 2016.
5. Decree No 25 of 2017 ratifying an agreement in the fields of culture and arts between the governments of  Qatar and Kuwait signed in Doha on January 11, 2016.
6. Decree No 26 of 2017 ratifying an air transport agreement  between the governments of Qatar and Kuwait signed in Doha on January 10, 2016. 
All decrees shall have the force of law in accordance with Article 68 of the Constitution and be implemented and effective from the date of their issuance and they shall be published in the official gazette .

Cabinet decisions


HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani yesterday ratified the following Cabinet decisions: 
1. Cabinet decision No 19 of 2017 approving the application of the provisions of Law No 24 of 2002 on retirement and pensions on Qatari employees by Al Qayed Holding Group Company.
2. Cabinet decision No 20 of 2017 establishing and forming the technical committee for the equivalency of university degrees. 
 The decisions are effective starting from their date of issue and are to be published in the official gazette.

HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani yesterday issued the following instruments of ratification: 
1. Instrument of ratification endorsing a draft memorandum of understanding (MoU) on co-operation in the field of culture between the governments of Qatar and Azerbaijan, which was signed in Doha on February 27, 2017.
2. Instrument of ratification endorsing a draft MoU on co-operation in the fields of youth and sports between the governments of Qatar and Azerbaijan, which was signed in Doha on February 27, 2017.


Emir appoints QNA
general manager


HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani issued yesterday Emiri decision No 13 of 2017 appointing Youssef Ibrahim Abdulrahman al-Maleki as general manager of Qatar News Agency (QNA).
The decision is effective starting from its date of issue and is to be published in the official gazette.


Minister meets Sudanese official


HE the Minister of Endowments (Awqaf|) and Islamic Affairs Dr Ghaith bin Mubarak al-Kuwari met the Secretary General of Sudanese “Holy Qur’an Society” Abdulrahman Mohamed Ali Saeed. During the meeting, the Secretary General of Sudanese “Holy Quran Society” thanked the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs for donating 160,000 euros to Al-Furqan Radio to purchase radio re-broadcasters for about 10 radio stations in Sudan. Al-Furqan Radio Group of the Holy Qur’an Society of Sudan was launched in 2008 with the aim of spreading the values of the Holy Qur’an.
