The St Regis Doha has announced that the Ferrari F2003-GA, a replica of the Formula 1 car driven by legendary German racing driver Michael Schumacher, is now on show in the hotel’s lobby.
The vehicle is part of the private collection at Letbelah, the car museum of Omar Alfardan, president and CEO of Alfardan Group. The original F2003-GA was driven by Schumacher to compete for Scuderia Ferrari in the 2003 F1 season, and was designated “GA” as a mark of respect to Gianni Agnelli, the deceased head of the Fiat brand.
The car won seven out of 12 races, five pole positions and achieved the five fastest laps during the season before being replaced with the almost identical F2004 in 2004. The Ferrari F2003-GA measures 4,545mm in length, 1,796mm in width and 959mm in height with a 3.0 L Tipo F052, V10 engine producing 930 horsepower. Tareq Derbas, area general manager of Lebanon, Syria, Pakistan, Iran and Iraq for Marriott International and general manager of The St Regis Doha, said: “This initiative comes as part of The St Regis Doha’s commitment to offering its guests unique offerings and to savour luxury experiences throughout their journey at the hotel.”
