Qatar Development Bank (QDB) has announced its upcoming joint venture with Babson College for the staging of the ‘Entrepreneur’s Boot Camp’ which started yesterday and will run until May10 at the St Regis Doha.
Entrepreneur’s Boot Camp is open to both aspiring and seasoned entrepreneurs with creative ideas, as well as working professionals looking to bring entrepreneurial thinking into the workplace.
Through the workshop, QDB aims to help participants develop a stronger entrepreneurial mindset and explore common challenges faced by founders and chief executives of companies in areas such as ideation techniques, team-building, entrepreneurs, competitive assessments, defining value propositions, business model development, brand-building, financial management and customer acquisition.
The boot camp is an intensive programme designed to give participants the right tools needed to capitalise on arising opportunities and to turn creative ideas into workable business plans.
The visiting faculty members have a keen interest in entrepreneurship pedagogies and bring the leverage of rich experience in launching businesses to QDB’s upcoming workshop, QDB said.
Adjunct lecturer at Babson College, professor Angelo J Santinelli, will shed light on several core themes such as business development and strategic planning based on his 25-year experience in entrepreneurship and business.
Internationally-recognised specialist on entrepreneurship, associate professor Dr Phillip Kim, will share his extensive experience on different aspects of how entrepreneurial ideas become realities and will elaborate on the importance of team-building, emerging economics and technology entrepreneurship.
QDB CEO Abdulaziz bin Nasser al-Khalifa said: “The Entrepreneur’s Boot Camp encourages aspiring businesspeople to act upon their entrepreneurial ideas and introduce their unique brand of business creativity to the Qatari private sector marketplace.”

In line with Qatar National Vision 2030, QDB said the upcoming collaboration with Babson College comes as the latest in a series of initiatives QDB has undertaken to promote human and economic development, diversify national sources of income, and motivate small and medium-sized enterprises to play stronger roles in the private sector.
To promote the private sector, QDB locally extends wide-ranging financial and non-financial support to entrepreneurs across a myriad of industries. The development organisation runs a series of initiatives that promote the entrepreneurial spirit in the citizenry to create private startups on an ongoing basis.
