The revamped Subaru BRZ has arrived in Qatar, Mannai Auto Group announced, with new stocks of the sports car reaching the Mannai showroom from Japan recently.
The 2017 Subaru BRZ is “entirely re-packaged, with a power-packed performance, new aesthetics and greater safety specs”, according to a statement.
The manual-equipped BRZs now have five more horsepower and five more pound-feet of torque, and the BRZ also comes with Subaru’s first ever full-LED headlamps and rear combination lamps. At the front, the C-shaped position lamps “represent the fresh new demeanour and identity that the BRZ exudes on the road”, the statement notes.
The suspension has been fine-tuned to enable the car to respond as the driver intended. Improvements have also been made in many other areas, such as the engine and drivetrain.
The car has a new aluminium rear spoiler that’s lower, improves stability and is just 10mm thick, while the new BRZ also comes with the new elegant 17x7.5-inch aluminium alloy wheels.
“The exterior design has been given a more serious sports car look with its low, wide stance. Interior quality, control and stability, and ride comfort have all got a sophisticated makeover,” the statement explains.
The instrument panel and door panels are designed for “more sophisticated coherence with the driver”, with the steering wheel having a “luxurious feel and enhanced control”.
Further, ‘next-generation’ airbag sensors have been used for the front, door and pillar airbags.
On the inside, the biggest change is a new 4.2-inch LCD display in the gauge cluster. With the available cruise control and audio control on steering wheel, one can stay focused while driving and still navigate soundtracks.
Ivor D’Cunha, Mannai Auto Group general manager (operations), said: “As the sole dealer for Subaru in Qatar, we are delighted to offer new and old customers the chance to take their first look at the Subaru BRZ. There’s a real buzz in the industry about this car as it puts the fun back into driving in a big way.
“We are getting enquiries every day from people who want to find out what the BRZ has to offer.”
The Subaru BRZ has a starting price from QR96,000, with available in-house financing, and comes with three-year/100,000km warranty.
The BRZ comes with Subaru’s first ever full-LED headlamps and rear combination lamps.
