IndiGo, India’s largest and fastest growing low-cost carrier, has commenced its operations to Doha.
With the touchdown of the Delhi-Doha flight, 6E1701, at Hamad International Airport (HIA) on Friday at 12.30pm, Doha became the seventh international and fourth Middle-Eastern destination after Sharjah, Muscat and Dubai on IndiGo’s network.
In an inaugural ceremony held at HIA, the maiden flight was welcomed with the traditional water cannon salute followed by a ribbon cutting attended by HIA officials.
The launch of operations to Doha is part of the airline’s endeavour to strengthen operations in the Middle East region, according to a press statement.
With the launch of daily direct flights, IndiGo offers “affordable and convenient options” on two of the busiest sectors from India to and from Doha — Delhi and Mumbai.
Continuing to enhance further connectivity, IndiGo also plans to operate direct flights from Chennai and Kozhikode to Doha from July 20 onwards.

IndiGo has established itself as a preferred carrier on India-Middle East routes with increased capacities and compelling fares on Sharjah, Muscat and Dubai sectors over the years.”
