Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) has hosted 38 participants from Qatar Leadership Centre’s Rising Leaders Programme.

The trip was as part of QLC’s local business visits, which give participants the opportunity to understand more about the unique organisations and mega projects in Qatar.

The Rising Leaders Programme is dedicated to developing leadership and management skills and enhancing the personal and professional development of Qatari professionals who have shown excellence in their careers to date.

Commenting on the importance of initiatives such as these for the development of future leaders, QFC Authority CEO Yousuf Mohamed al-Jaida said: “We are pleased to host students from the Rising Leaders Programme and give them an inside look into our entity and how we operate.

The development of human capital is a vital component to a diversified and strong economy and we continue looking at different methods to help develop the local talent pool.

“Over the years, QFC has sent some of its upcoming leaders to QLC to further develop and enhance their skillset to meet the challenges of today’s business environment.

This is a clear example of the importance of the Rising Leaders Programme in establishing future leaders for the private sector.

I am confident that each and every one of you will positively contribute to our country’s well-being and look forward to seeing you lead us towards the goals set out in Qatar National Vision 2030.”

Qatar International Court and Dispute Resolution Centre (QICDRC) CEO Faisal al-Sahouti said, “Our vision at QICDRC is that when the new law is finalised and approved, everybody from the local community to business entities will be able to see first-hand the impact it will have once utilised and enforced, making Qatar an international hub for dispute resolution.”

The participants were provided with a tour of the ‘state-of-the-art’ courtroom by registrar Christopher Grout, who explained the role of the court and demonstrated its technological capabilities.

During the event, Fahad Zainal, QFC’s adviser to the CEO, spoke on the role of QFC and his experience during the Rising Leaders Programme: "As a QLC Rising Leaders Programme graduate, I know first-hand the benefits and experience this programme delivers by developing professional, personal and leadership skills.

My experience during the programme has provided me with a deep knowledge of techniques that helped fast-track my career."

The QLC visit to QFC premises comes as part of QFC’s “continuous efforts to develop human capital as a driver for economic growth and prosperity in line with Qatar National Vision 2030”, according to a press statement.
