The right turn access on to the United Nations Street from Omar Al Mukhtar Street will be closed from Saturday until the end of this month.
This is being done to enable the finishing works on the tie-in road linking to a new flyover that will form part of the multi-level Al Khaleej Al Gharbi Interchange on Ashghal’s Lusail Expressway.
The proposed road closure, which is located in the West Bay Area, has been designed in co-ordination with the General Directorate of Traffic.
During the closure, road users travelling from The Pearl towards West Bay, will be required to take the next available right turn after the United Nations Street, and continue along Al Intisar Street and turn right to join the United Nations Street.
Road users travelling from the West Bay towards The Pearl, who wish to access the United Nations Street, should continue on Omar Al Mukhtar Street and take a U-turn at the first set of traffic lights as they currently do.
As above they will then be required to take the first available right turn after the United Nations Street, continue towards Al Intisar Street and take the first right on to the United Nations Street.
The exit from the United Nations Street on to Omar Al Mukhtar Street will remain unaffected.
Ashghal has advised members of the public wishing to access local schools and embassies in the area to allow additional time for their journeys.
