The Qatar population has shot up to all-time high level of 2,675,000, according to the figures released by the Ministry of Development Planning & Statistics (MDPS).

The latest population is 0.6% more than the figure (2,659,000) of March 31. The ministry has also informed that compared to the population of the corresponding period last year there has been a growth of nearly 4.5% in the latest figures.
The previous highest population figure was in the month of February when there were approximately 2,673,000 residents in Qatar. There was a growth of 3.8% in population in the one-month period between January 31 and February 28, it said.
The highest population of 2016 was recorded in the month of November when there were about 2,637,000 people in the country. However, it came down to 2,597,000 when the year end figures were released on December 31, 2016.
Apparently a considerably large section of the population had travelled out, as usual, during the one month. If previous years’ figures were any indication, chances are that there could be fall in the population in the months between June 1 and August 31, but the figure may climb marginally again in September.
