Stafford Sri Lankan School Doha strives for excellence. Owing to this fact, the 15-year-old school that commenced with only 11 children and two teachers, currently educates around 1,000 students of various nationalities.
Nevertheless, there is a long waiting list of students seeking entrance to the school. With the hope of satisfying the needs of these blossoming flowers, the school relocated its pre-primary section to the former Palestine school premise, adjacent to the current location of the school.
The new premises was officially declared open by PDSPA Liyanage, the ambassador of Sri Lanka to Qatar, in the presence of  Dr Wickrema Weerasooria, advisor to the president of Sri Lanka and  Ayesha Rahuman, former principal of the school as guests of honour.
The opening ceremony was held earlier this week in the presence of several dignitaries, parents and well-wishers.
Recognising the collective effort of the management, teachers, parents and well-wishers as one of the key drives to this success, some of the top contributors to the project were honoured with tokens of appreciation.
Filling the event with the scent of blossoming flowers, there were several performances by the students of the reception classes. Further, PDSPA Liyanage gifted a sum of LKR50,000 to the dancing troupe of the school in tribute to their amazing performances.
