Katara-the Cultural Village hosted Qatar’s first ever unique exhibition by a seven-year old Qatari artist with autism, Amer al-Mansoori.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Katara deputy general manager and operations head Ahmad al-Sayed, in the presence of representatives from various autism support groups.
Al-Mansoori’s works consists of 18 paintings, mostly in various shades of blue, reflecting his unique and thought-provoking perspective of the world around him.
Apart from the exhibition, Katara also organised workshops designed to offer entertainment, support, and inspiration for visitors and families with children with different needs, who might visit the display.
Al-Sayed urged the public to visit the exhibition and support the special needs society. Explaining the inspiration behind this one-of-a-kind exhibition, the artist’s parent, Salma al-Amari said: “It was quite by accident that I stumbled on my son’s hidden artistic inclination.”
“I soon discovered that painting instantly lifted my son’s spirits, especially when he was mixing colors,” she noted. She also thanked Katara for hosting the exhibition.
