Jaidah Automotive, Chevrolet’s exclusive dealer in Qatar, held the Qatar debut of the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, “the most powerful” Camaro in the model’s 50-year history, at the seventh edition of Qatar Motor Show yesterday.
Attending the motor show on behalf of Jaidah Automotive was Khalid Samir, director of Operations at Jaidah Automotive. Also present at the event were Markus Leithe, managing director Middle East - General Motors; Abdallah Madhoun, regional sales and marketing manager for Chevrolet GM Middle East; and other representatives.
Madhoun said: “We are excited to showcase the Camaro ZL1, which will go on sale in Qatar in the next couple of weeks. The Camaro ZL1 is designed to excel at everything, delivering on design, dependability, quality, and performance. The ZL1 is the track capable version of the award-winning sixth generation of the Camaro and can challenge the most advanced sports coupes in the world.”
The Camaro ZL1 is the first production car to use a new, advanced 10-speed automatic gearbox, which offers strong economy and performance benefits. It is also available as a six-speed manual.
Acceleration is delivered via a new supercharged 6.2L V-8 engine, with an estimated 650hp. Its 0-100kph time is a mere 3.6 seconds, and it can complete the quarter mile in 11.4 seconds at a speed of 204kph. It builds on the sixth generation Camaro’s segment leadership as the fittest in the segment.
Samir said: “The vehicles we are showcasing this year portray Chevrolet’s latest innovation in safety, design, and technology. In addition to the Camaro ZL1, some of Chevrolet’s hottest vehicles will be on display at the show, including the Tahoe Midnight Edition, Trailblazer Z71, Malibu Turbo, and Silverado, featuring the newest Chevrolet truck accessories.
