QNB, the largest financial institution in the Middle East and Africa, has announced its platinum sponsorship to the “Turkey Expo by Qatar” exhibition, which will be held from April 19 to 21 at the Qatar National Convention Center.
The expo aims to further enhance the economic ties between Qatar and Turkey to become commercial hubs in the region, and to improve trade, with a goal of doubling the volume of bilateral trade to reach up to $1.5bn.
The exhibition is bringing together companies from both the countries to strengthen the investment and cooperation opportunities between the two nations and the Gulf Cooperation Council region. Over 3,000 top companies from Turkey, Qatar and the Middle East are expected to attend the event.
“The group always seeks to facilitate international financial exchange across its international network and contribute toward Qatar’s development to one of the world’s economic powers and a commercial centre in the region,” a QNB spokesman said.
QNB recently entered the Turkish market through its acquisition of a 99.88% stake in Finansbank (now rebranded as QNB Finansbank), Turkey’s fifth largest privately owned universal bank by total assets, customer deposits and loans.
“The group is always ready to leverage its reach in this new market to help facilitate bilateral trade and financial exchange between the two countries, as well as help their access into new markets through its strong international network,” the spokesman added.
