Doha Festival City has lined up “more entertainment and surprises” in celebration of its recent opening.
The entertainment, retail and hospitality destination managed and operated by Al-Futtaim opened its doors to the public on April 5.
One of the events on offer is 'Experience Winter Wonderland at Doha Festival City'. While the real snow experience is still to come at Qatar’s first Snow Park, Snow Dunes, Doha Festival City will be “home to a magical Winter Wonderland” from April 20 to May 20. Children will have the chance to play in two snow zones – both designed for fun and frolic, according to a press statement.
“Step into a wintery adventure by entering the hugeman-sized Snow Globe at the entrance and snap your own snowy selfie inside,” the statement noted.
This attraction will be available from 4pm to 10pm (Sunday to Thursday), and from 1pm to 10pm (Friday and Saturday). The target audience is children aged five to 12 years, and entry is free of charge. The location is Snow Zones: Centre Court and Entertainment Node, and Snow Globe: Axis Node.
The ‘Airigami Balloon Sculptures -- Watch World-Renowned Artist Larry Moss at work’ is another key offering. “Witness an expert at work with world-renowned artist Larry Moss in Doha Festival City from April 20 as he crafts five ‘Airigami’ sculptures throughout the mall. Larry and his team of 11 international artists will use up to 40,000 balloons over nine days,” the statement explained.
The installations will be on display until May 20, with live sculpting take place from 3pm to 9pm daily.
