The Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) observed GCC Food Day yesterday, with a focus on raising public awareness on food safety.
The Doha Municipality, in co-operation with the Ministry of Public Health and Ministry of Economy and Commerce, presented a number of short movies at shopping malls to spread awareness on the importance of food safety in order to ensure good health.
In addition, flyers and brochures on related issues were distributed to members of the public at malls around the country.
Meanwhile, the annual exhibition and drawing contest for children at the Doha Municipality headquarters will be held from today until April 20 under the theme “The seven steps to maintaining food safety”.
A number of schools are taking part in the event, held daily from 9.30am to 11am.
